It’s nice to see you and that you’re doing well
That’s a lie, your arms around her
All fake snow and jingle bells
Those mistletoe smiles
Parasitic and toxic, drains my will to cope
You’ve grubbed the green from the tree
Left it nothing but white, dead (ashen) lights, and electrical smoke

If Santa swings by your place tonight
A lump of coal just won’t do
It’s much too useful
And deserved by better than you
The carols are covered in minor chords and tears
I hope he brings you a sackful of lonesome this year

You’re the white elephant
No one wanted and still got stolen away
Some clearance-zone board game
Regifted and never played
In a house full of folks
